Our firm’s attorneys are highly sensitive to the unique needs and goals of our school board clients and their respective approaches to special education. We regularly assist our clients’ administrators in every facet of the special education process, from Child Find and evaluation issues, to appropriately responding to records requests and disciplinary incidents involving students with disabilities, to assisting in the development of individualized education plans and 504 plans, as well as attending meetings and providing daily consultation as needed. We represent our client school boards throughout every level of the special education litigation process, including mediations, settlement conferences, due process hearings, and the prosecution and defense of appeals before the Federal Courts. We also defend and assist our school board clients throughout complaint investigations by the New Jersey Office of Special Education Programs, the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights, and the federal Office of Civil Rights with regard to issues and claims on behalf of students with disabilities arising under the IDEA, Section 504, and the ADA.
